Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ted Kona (ranked 5413 p4p, 5442 weight class) and Caique Lima (ranked 495 p4p, 496 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ted Kona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Caique Lima!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kona uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lima.

and Lima counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Lima takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

It looked like Kona wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lima drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lima jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lima thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Kona not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Kona frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kona wants to control the pace but Lima is squirming around nicely.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ted Kona.
Well Kona has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
