This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 39 wins and 39 losses; Sirus Hughes! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 21 losses; Filmore Everett!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Everett changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hughes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Hughes (0) vs (4) Everett
Everett taking a break here but Hughes is having none of it and regains half guard.
Hughes is trying to control but Everett manages to pass to mount!

Hughes can't escape the position.
Everett can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hughes is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hughes is looking to improve his position but Everett isn't that keen on the idea.
Hughes sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Hughes is trying to control but can't.
Hughes gets full guard.
Everett is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Hughes has his hands on Everett's head, controlling the position.
Hughes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Everett gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hughes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Everett is one step ahead there.
Everett pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hughes is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hughes pushes a forearm under Everett's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Everett is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
