Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hatim al Tai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joel Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzalez has chosen Cyanide by Metallica as his entrance music. Joel Gonzalez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
al Tai doesn't manage to clinch there - Gonzalez circles away.
Gonzalez wants to clinch.
Gonzalez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. al Tai sprawls well initially but Gonzalez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
al Tai is trying to get back to full guard.
Gonzalez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
al Tai shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gonzalez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in al Tai's guard.
al Tai is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gonzalez is standing up over al Tai. al Tai looks to escape but Gonzalez dives into side control.

al Tai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gonzalez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

al Tai looking to sit in guard and control but Gonzalez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Gonzalez stands up and waves to al Tai to follow him.
al Tai tries to clinch there but Gonzalez circles away.
al Tai fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
al Tai throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Gonzalez lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as al Tai backs up against the cage.
Gonzalez tries to bum rush al Tai with a series of wild strikes but al Tai uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A combination from Gonzalez does no damage.
al Tai chopping away at his opponent's legs.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gonzalez.

al Tai scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Gonzalez moves in looking to clinch but al Tai pushes him off.

and Gonzalez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gonzalez.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
