The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Caye feints and as Joshua raises his hands in defense, Caye changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Joshua seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Joshua really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Caye. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've been informed that Joshua has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

and Joshua lands a stunning uppercut that sends Caye to the mat!

It looks like Justin Caye has been cut.

Joshua wants to stand up but Caye has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Joshua seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Joshua uses his free foot to push down on Caye's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Caye.
