Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Akira Kaburagi (ranked 2958 p4p, 2869 weight class) and Kurou Nishiyama (ranked 311 p4p, 308 weight class). Kurou Nishiyama has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Akira Kaburagi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kurou Nishiyama!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nishiyama shoots in looking for a takedown. Kaburagi tries to sprawl out of it but Nishiyama keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kaburagi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nishiyama tries for a takedown but Kaburagi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Nishiyama closes the distance and clinches up with Kaburagi, looking for a takedown. Nishiyama pushes Kaburagi against the cage but Kaburagi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kaburagi drops down looking for a counter takedown but Nishiyama sprawls and moves away.
Akira Kaburagi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kurou Nishiyama.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kaburagi is looking for a choke. Nishiyama gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Nishiyama manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kaburagi is on top in guard.

Nishiyama has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kaburagi is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Nishiyama.

Kaburagi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nishiyama controls the pace.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

A very excited looking Akira Kaburagi rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
