The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinha circles away from the clinch attempt.

Menezes throws the kick towards the body but Pinha avoids it.

Pinha stands up and beckons Menezes to join him on the feet.
Pinha tries a head kick but it misses.
Pinha misses with a takedown attempt - Menezes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Pinha has Menezes pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Menezes manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Pinha wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Pinha tries to pull guard but Menezes holds him up against the cage and eventually Pinha drops back down to his feet.

Menezes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Menezes wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Menezes pushes Pinha away with a front kick.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
A short body shot lands from Menezes as the two fighters clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Pinha is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Menezes pulls him back up using the underhooks.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Pinha is sitting in close to Menezes's body. Menezes has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Pinha is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Pinha is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Menezes.
