Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tavares Tootoo (ranked 3414 p4p, 2630 weight class) and Kiniii Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kiniii Kong has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tavares Tootoo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kiniii Kong!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Tootoo or perhaps it was just good defense by Kong, which made it look bad.
Tootoo closes the distance and clinches up with Kong, looking for a takedown. Tootoo pushes Kong against the cage but Kong circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tootoo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kong counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tavares Tootoo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tootoo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kong as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tavares Tootoo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kong leaves Tootoo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kong doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Kong keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
It seemed like Kong was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Tootoo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Tootoo tries to free his leg and advance position but Kong is retaining full guard.
Tootoo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Tootoo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Kong can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tootoo controls the pace.

Tootoo drops back looking for a leg! Kong is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kong manages to kick Tootoo off! Tootoo jumps back into Kong's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tootoo is working for a kimura but Kong is defending it quite comfortably.
Tootoo is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Kong is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
