Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyojin Rikishi (ranked 25484 p4p, 4633 weight class) and Dos Vydaniya (ranked 240 p4p, 189 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dos Vydaniya!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rikishi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vydaniya looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Vydaniya is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rikishi is controlling him well.

Rikishi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vydaniya on the ground.

Rikishi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rikishi looks to land a strike but Vydaniya avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Rikishi is stalling in the full guard.
Vydaniya is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Vydaniya had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rikishi defends it easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rikishi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Vydaniya tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rikishi is in Vydaniya's guard.

Vydaniya tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rikishi controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Vydaniya is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rikishi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Rikishi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Vydaniya manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Vydaniya wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Rikishi manages to pass to side control.

Vydaniya is looking to control Rikishi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vydaniya avoid being mounted?

Rikishi tries to free his leg and advance position but Vydaniya is retaining full guard.

Rikishi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rikishi wants to stand but Vydaniya has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Vydaniya is trying to keep Rikishi in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Rikishi.
Vydaniya managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Rikishi.
Rikishi grinds an elbow into Vydaniya's temple.

It looks like Dos Vydaniya has been cut.
You can see the frustration on Vydaniya's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Vydaniya pushes Rikishi away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rikishi gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Rikishi just content to control the position.

Rikishi swings around for an armbar but Vydaniya sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rikishi's guard.

Vydaniya stops Rikishi from standing up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dos Vydaniya has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kyojin Rikishi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Kyojin Rikishi showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Rikishi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
