PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andy Benjamin (ranked 2515 p4p, 2785 weight class) and Ali Gomez (ranked 196 p4p, 214 weight class). Gomez has chosen The Eye of The Tiger as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez moves forwards but Benjamin connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Benjamin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Benjamin digs a good hook to Gomez's body.
Gomez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Benjamin shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gomez eats them both and turns towards Benjamin to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gomez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Benjamin smiles and moves away.
Gomez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Benjamin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Benjamin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Benjamin gets in close and tags Gomez with a short punch that almost sends Gomez to the mat! Oh Gomez is in big trouble! He turns his back on Benjamin, trying to create some distance but Benjamin rushes him, striking wildly and Gomez goes down! The referee tackles Benjamin into the cage to end the fight! Benjamin is one violent man!

Andy Benjamin spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
Ali Gomez was interviewed post fight and said 'The great tiger shall rise again!'.
