Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Killian Hayes (ranked 4143 p4p, 3277 weight class) and Kiniii Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kiniii Kong is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes tries for a takedown but Kong sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kong lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Kong showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hayes.
No luck for Hayes with that takedown attempt.
Hayes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Killian Hayes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hayes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kong's waist but Kong gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hayes off to one side.
Hayes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Kong unleashes a big counter combination but Hayes bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Kong blocks a head kick by Hayes.
Hayes throws a left and a right that both miss

and Kong counters with a left and a right that hurts Hayes! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Kong jumps into full mount!
Hayes is breathing heavily.

Kong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hayes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kong can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hayes is looking to escape.

Hayes tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kong takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hayes manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Kong prevents Hayes from improving his position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kong wants to pass to mount but Hayes is defending the position.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've been informed that Kong has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Hayes moves into full guard.
Hayes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hayes lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hayes postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hayes's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Hayes tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kong defends well and Hayes ends up having to push Kong into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Kong lands a shoulder strike.
Kong goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Hayes is looking to control Kong's arms but Kong gets an underhook and turns him. Now Hayes has his back to the cage.
Kong lands a nice uppercut.
Hayes tries to pull guard but Kong holds him up against the cage and eventually Hayes drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Killian Hayes. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Killian Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hayes dives in and grabs Kong's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kong pushes down on Hayes's head and hops out.
