Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joel Gomez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Naoya Li!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gomez sprawls well initially but Li persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Gomez tries to get to full guard but Li has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Li wants to take a breather but Gomez is having none of it.

Li is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Gomez has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Gomez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well Li has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
