Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Trae Taylor (ranked 5637 p4p, 5693 weight class) and Shocka Smarty (ranked 301 p4p, 302 weight class). Shocka Smarty is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trae Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shocka Smarty!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Smarty tries for a takedown but Taylor circles away easily
and Taylor counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Smarty has his takedown stuffed
letting Taylor counter with a right hand.
Smarty with a poor takedown
and Taylor counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Trae Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shocka Smarty.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Taylor scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Smarty doesn't seem bothered though.

and Taylor makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Smarty gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Taylor counter with a right hand.
Taylor seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Smarty takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Taylor connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Smarty momentarily.
Smarty misses with a takedown
and Taylor counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smarty walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Smarty is rocked!
It looks like Shocka Smarty has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Taylor comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Smarty is still on wobbly legs! Can Taylor finish him?
Taylor is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Taylor connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Taylor steps in with a hook that catches Smarty right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Taylor follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Smarty looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Trae Taylor!
