Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Johnson Jr (ranked 25452 p4p, 4124 weight class) and Camden Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Johnson Jr has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Johnson Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Camden Dean!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson Jr wants to clinch up but Dean keeps it at a distance.
Dean avoids the head kick by Johnson Jr.
Dean is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Johnson Jr goes for a double leg but Dean avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dean continues to drive forward.

Dean breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dean feints a jab promting Johnson Jr to slip. Dean then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Johnson Jr slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Johnson Jr misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dean works Johnson Jr's body with a nice hook.
Johnson Jr dodges the punch combination from Dean.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson Jr shoots for a double leg takedown but Dean sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson Jr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Johnson Jr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dean decides to stand up.

Dean closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dean lands in his opponent's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dean passes Johnson Jr's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Camden Dean dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Dean lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dean.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dean is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Johnson Jr doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dean.

Dean wants to stand up but Johnson Jr has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Dean lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Johnson Jr actively working from the bottom here.
Johnson Jr is looking to improve his position.
Dean really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson Jr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnson Jr moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Dean drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Johnson Jr manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dean has Johnson Jr in his guard.

Dean is pulling down on Johnson Jr's head. It's preventing any offense from Johnson Jr, at least for the moment.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Dean closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Johnson Jr did well to prevent Dean getting side control.

Johnson Jr manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Dean keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Johnson Jr throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dean's waist but Dean gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson Jr off to one side.

Dean uses his free foot to push down on Johnson Jr's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Johnson Jr.
You get the feeling that Johnson Jr really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Johnson Jr is bucking up trying to escape but Dean cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Camden Dean is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Dean has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
