The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lajoie chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Lajoie throws out a loose jab but Joshua uses good head movement to avoid it.
Joshua lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Nice straight punches there by Lajoie. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lajoie.
Joshua gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Lajoie looks to land a right hand but Joshua moved out of range.
A nice side step and Joshua releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joshua's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lajoie connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Joshua scrambles back to his feet.
Lajoie comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

and Lajoie is countered with a crisp right hand from Joshua that sends him to the canvas! Joshua follows him to the mat into side control.

It looks like Symonet Lajoie has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Joshua counters with a big uppercut that knocks Lajoie off his feet! Joshua dives into side control looking to finish!
Lajoie tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Joshua really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Lajoie.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Let's hope that Joshua has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
