Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Valen Dreth (ranked 430 p4p, 265 weight class) and Rudolf Meine (ranked 54 p4p, 34 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Valen Dreth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Rudolf Meine!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meine gets a clinch.

Meine is fighting off a takedown attempt but Dreth is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Meine to the mat. Meine regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Dreth won't allow Meine to get back to his feet.
Our spies down at at Hammer House of Horror inform us that Meine has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Meine is on top in guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Meine holds on and takes a little breather.

And Meine tries to counter it with a takedown but Dreth pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Meine dives in and grabs Dreth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dreth pushes down on Meine's head and hops out.
Valen Dreth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rudolf Meine.

Meine tries to close the distance and clinch but Dreth swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Meine takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Dreth throws a quick inside leg kick.
Meine dives in and grabs Dreth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dreth pushes down on Meine's head and hops out.
It looked like Dreth was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Meine.
Meine has a takedown stuffed.
Dreth looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Dreth throws a shot from downtown. Meine moves away and avoids it.
Meine raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Dreth sets himself, and Meine steps forward looking for the clinch! Dreth avoids it this time.
Meine shoots in but no luck this time.
Dreth swats away the attempt to clinch by Meine.
Dreth throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dreth plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Dreth throws a right and a left that Meine avoids nicely.

Dreth is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Meine can do to turn this around?

Meine takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Dreth is looking to land body kicks.
Meine shoots for a takedown but Dreth saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Meine gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dreth is pushing down on Meine's leg trying to pass to half guard. Meine is fighting to maintain full guard but Dreth has managed to sneak the leg through.

Dreth thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Dreth with the ground and pound but Meine uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Meine is pulling down on Dreth's head. It's preventing any offense from Dreth, at least for the moment.
Dreth stands up over Meine, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Dreth will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dreth accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Meine has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Dreth is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Meine.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Meine turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Meine blocks a head kick by Dreth.
Dreth tests Meine's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Dreth is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Meine walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Dreth misses with an uppercut.
Meine only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Dreth getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Meine takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Meine keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dreth.
Dreth bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Meine moves out of range of the leg kick from Dreth.
Meine moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Meine tries to clinch up but Dreth circles away and keeps his distance.
It looked like Dreth was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Meine.

Meine on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dreth throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Meine changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dreth tries to avoid it but Meine manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dreth to the ground. Dreth escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Meine tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dreth swivels and escapes.
Valen Dreth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rudolf Meine.
A big right from Meine misses.
Dreth throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Meine fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Meine takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Meine takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Dreth thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Meine if he has to take too many more of those.
A low kick lands for Dreth.

Dreth closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
