And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Faiz Shariff!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kay looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Kay is working Shariff over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Kay seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Shariff throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Kay escapes and throws Shariff's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Kay lands a nice forearm strike.
Shariff really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kay. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kay scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Shariff to see if he's OK.

Kay cracks Shariff with a big right hand but Shariff just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Kay cracks Shariff with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Kay immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Shariff is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Kay!
