PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between William Wallace (ranked 3398 p4p, 2656 weight class) and Alec Harvey (ranked 325 p4p, 254 weight class). Harvey comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME - Choke kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alec Harvey!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace shoots in looking for a takedown. Harvey tries to sprawl out of it but Wallace keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Harvey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wallace is defended easily by Harvey.
Wallace displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Harvey throws out the jab.
Wallace shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Harvey defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Wallace. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Harvey digs a right hand into Wallace's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Wallace's gas tank.

Harvey throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Wallaces head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Harvey thuds his right hand into Wallace's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Wallace is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Wallace wants to work for an arm triangle but Harvey is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wallace is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Harvey is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wallace pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harvey is looking to control Wallace's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Harvey avoid being mounted?
Harvey is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Alec Harvey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Harvey connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Wallace's hands.

Harvey looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Wallace closes the distance and clinches up with Harvey, looking for a takedown. Wallace pushes Harvey against the cage but Harvey circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Wallace shoots in looking for a takedown but Harvey manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wallace's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Wallace shoots for a double leg takedown but Harvey sprawls well. He's pushed Wallace's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Harvey lands with an uppercut that bounces Wallace off the cage and back into range.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Harvey but Harvey pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Harvey might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Oh Wallace is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Harvey scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wallace in his tracks.
Harvey closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Wallace! Harvey dives in looking to finish! Wallace is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
