Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Reynaldo Barber (ranked 1375 p4p, 703 weight class) and Felix Dakat (ranked 118 p4p, 61 weight class). Dakat has chosen Right On- Showcore as his entrance music. Felix Dakat has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dakat throws a shot from downtown. Barber moves away and avoids it.
Dakat looks to throw the jab but Barber is out of range.
A jab from Barber does it's job there.

It looks like Felix Dakat has been cut.
Dakat throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dakat takes a swing at Barber's ribcage but misses.
Barber is looking to counter punch.
Dakat looks to land a left hand but Barber moved out of range nicely.
Dakat lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Barber circles away quickly and effectively.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dakat has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Barber finds it's way round the side to connect with Dakat's head.
Barber takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Barber.

Dakat's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Dakat changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barber tries to avoid it but Dakat manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barber to the ground. Barber escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Dakat throws a looping overhand right but Barber ducks down to avoid it.

This has been an exciting period of action!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Barber does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Barber feints and then cracks Dakat's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dakat down.
Barber takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Dakat is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Barber.
Barber tried to counter with a leg kick but Dakat avoided it.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Dakat might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Barber has got the better of the exchanges.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dakat throws a right hand that Barber ducks under and follows up with a left that Barber also avoids with ease.

Dakat throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Barber sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Dakat shoots in and bounces Barber off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Dakat got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barber has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dakat has managed to get both his arms back between Barber's legs - danger averted.

Dakat drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Dakat seems to have locked his on tight now - Barber screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Dakat, as he picks up the win!
