PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyojin Rikishi (ranked 4883 p4p, 2853 weight class) and Loo Ol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyojin Rikishi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Loo Ol!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rikishi rushes Ol and presses him up against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Rikishi tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ol smiles and moves away.

Rikishi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Rikishi stands up and beckons Ol to his feet.

Rikishi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ol wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Rikishi slows down the pace here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ol escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Rikishi closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ol's guard.
Rikishi stops Ol from standing up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rikishi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rikishi won't allow Ol to sweep him here.
Rikishi postures up in Ol's guard and throws a big left but Ol blocks it.
Rikishi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rikishi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Rikishi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ol works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rikishi throws a big elbow that misses.
Rikishi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Ol can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rikishi controls the pace.
Rikishi seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ol for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Kyojin Rikishi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A telegraphed right hand from Rikishi misses the target.
A countering left hand to the body from Ol misses.

Rikishi closes the distance and clinches.
Rikishi goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Ol breaks from the clinch.

Rikishi has Ol up against the cage in a clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Ol has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rikishi keeps control of Ol as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Rikishi stalls.
Ol wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rikishi is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ol pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Rikishi tries to pull guard but Ol forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyojin Rikishi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rikishi is trying to pull guard but Ol turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ol pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Ol. No joy for Rikishi on that attempt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kyojin Rikishi dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rikishi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Rikishi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Rikishi wants to free his trapped foot but Ol is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Rikishi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Rikishi missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Rikishi not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Ol wants to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rikishi throws a body shot but no joy.
Despite the aggression on Ol's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Rikishi throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rikishi misses with a double jab
and Ol counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Rikishi moves in looking to clinch but Ol pushes him off.
Rikishi with a lazy takedown attempt
and Ol makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rikishi misses with a takedown attempt
and Ol counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Kyojin Rikishi has been cut.
Rikishi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ol can do to turn this around?
Rikishi swings away with a body shot that misses
and Ol counters with a huge left! Rikishi is in big trouble! He's backing up but Ol isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Rikishi from any more damage. A dominating finish by Ol!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Loo Ol!
