Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tokoni Soaki (ranked 951 p4p, 956 weight class) and Jouni Joukahainen (ranked 111 p4p, 113 weight class). Soaki's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Le Manu - Shepherds Reign. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jouni Joukahainen!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Joukahainen misses its intended target.
Soaki attempts a counter takedown but Joukahainen avoids it well and moves away.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Joukahainen holds on and takes a little breather.
Soaki seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Soaki has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Joukahainen is trying to control Soaki's posture but Soaki avoids it.

Soaki cracks Joukahainen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Soaki goes for an armbar but Joukahainen turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Joukahainen.

Soaki is looking for a triangle but Joukahainen pushes his legs off easily.
Joukahainen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Joukahainen gets to his feet - Soaki follows without any prompting.

Soaki fails to land with a series of punches.
Joukahainen doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Soaki cracks Joukahainen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Soaki on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Soaki shoots in looking for a takedown. Joukahainen tries to sprawl out of it but Soaki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Joukahainen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Soaki changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Joukahainen cracks Soaki with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Joukahainen has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Soaki to stand back up!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Soaki drops his hands momentarily. Joukahainen doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Soaki staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Soaki doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jouni Joukahainen!
The defeated Tokoni Soaki had this to say: 'Thank you to my opponent and all the fans, my coaches and sponsors. And to everyone in my division, Teke lava tauolunga mo au? (Do you wanna Dance with me?)'.
