Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Small Fry (ranked 3402 p4p, 3096 weight class) and Davion Petersen (ranked 380 p4p, 357 weight class). Small Fry could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Davion Petersen's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Fry does it's job there.

It looks like Davion Petersen has been cut.
Fry throws a nice looking combination but Petersen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Petersen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Petersen throws out a loose jab but Fry uses good head movement to avoid it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Small Fry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Petersen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Petersen throws a lazy right hand but Fry sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Fry lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

and Petersen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Petersen misses with a hook. Fry ducked under it nicely.
Fry tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Petersen was well out of range. Poor timing from Fry.
Petersen unleashes a big counter combination but Fry bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Fry throws a head kick that misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Petersen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Petersen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fry moves away.

Petersen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fry sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Fry looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

No joy there for Fry, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Petersen dives in and grabs Fry's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fry pushes down on Petersen's head and hops out.

Fry cracks Petersen with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Petersen tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Fry pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Petersen is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Small Fry!
