PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George Pierre (ranked 2492 p4p, 1739 weight class) and Red Crow (ranked 246 p4p, 179 weight class). Pierre comes to the cage accompanied by O Canada. Crow has chosen Scarlet - Age of Seduction as his entrance music. George Pierre had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Pierre misses.

and Crow counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Pierre throws an overhand right that lands on Crow's shoulder, as Crow tries to avoid the shot.

Crow gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pierre to score an easy takedown into full guard.

A slapping leg kick lands for Crow.
Crow uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pierre.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Crow is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Crow wants to pass the guard but Pierre is keeping the position.

Pierre can't keep his opponent in guard - Crow advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to George Pierre.
I think Pierre has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
