Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lars Huber (ranked 4496 p4p, 4501 weight class) and Darius Martins (ranked 305 p4p, 302 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lars Huber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Darius Martins!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huber stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Martins shoots for a double leg takedown but Huber sprawls well. He's pushed Martins's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Martins fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Huber avoids it really well and circles away.
Martins throws a head kick but Huber moves out of range.

Martins gets a takedown into half guard.
Martins is looking to take a break and control but Huber is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Martins looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Huber has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Martins is working away from the top position though.
Martins seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Huber does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Martins drops back looking for a leg! Huber is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Huber manages to kick Martins off! Martins jumps back into Huber's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Huber swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Huber wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Huber gets control of Martins's arms and successfully pulls guard. Huber will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

That was a close round but I would say that Lars Huber will probably get the nod.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Martins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lars Huber.
Well Huber has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
