Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Pitstain (ranked 25325 p4p, 4766 weight class) and Boris Piekny (ranked 520 p4p, 461 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodney Pitstain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Boris Piekny!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitstain throws a head kick that misses.

Piekny takes the fight into the clinch.
Piekny is struggling to control the position.
Piekny jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pitstain walks away with a smile on his face. Piekny gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Piekny has closed the distance and engaged Pitstain in a clinch.

Piekny gets control of Pitstain's arms and successfully pulls guard. Piekny will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pitstain wanted to stand there but Piekny had control of the position.

Piekny tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pitstain manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pitstain pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Piekny dives in and scores a takedown into Pitstain's guard.

Piekny uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pitstain.
Pitstain swings for the body but Piekny moves out of range.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Pitstain wants to break free but Piekny has control.
Piekny tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pitstain smiles and moves away.
Rodney Pitstain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boris Piekny.
No joy there for Pitstain, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Piekny throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pitstain blocks a head kick by Piekny.
Rodney Pitstain is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pitstain throws a body shot but no joy.
Pitstain is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Piekny.
We've been told by Pitstain's head coaches at Shut Up & Train! that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Piekny has Pitstain up against the cage in a clinch.
Piekny fails to pull guard.
Pitstain gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Piekny.

Piekny escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Pitstain looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Piekny darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Pitstain is trying to stand back up but Piekny is controlling him
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Piekny keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Piekny is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pitstain is just riding it out for now. Piekny eventually gives up the hold.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Piekny avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Rodney Pitstain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Pitstain gets caught flat footed, as Piekny shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Pitstain manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Pitstain throws a head kick but Piekny moves out of range.
And Piekny tries to counter it with a takedown but Pitstain pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Pitstain tries to bum rush Piekny with a series of wild strikes but Piekny uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Piekny avoids the head kick by Pitstain.

Piekny is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pitstain's half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Piekny uses his free foot to push down on Pitstain's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pitstain.
Pitstain is squirming around, avoiding Piekny's attempts to control the action.

Piekny sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Piekny tries to control but Pitstain wriggling away.
You get the feeling that Pitstain really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Piekny takes Pitstain's back.

Piekny is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Piekny is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Pitstain is defending well though. Piekny let's go of the attempt for now.

Piekny has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Pitstain is in real trouble here. Piekny gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Pitstain is tapping out! Piekny wins by rear naked choke!
