PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gunner Justice (ranked 4143 p4p, 4160 weight class) and Shiro Goat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gunner Justice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shiro Goat!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Justice fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Goat, pushing him back against the cage.

Goat gets control of Justice's arms and successfully pulls guard. Goat will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Justice controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Justice wants to get up but he can't break Goat's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Goat lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goat keeping moving, preventing Justice from controlling successfully.
Goat is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Justice is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Justice is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Justice looking to pass the guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Goat can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Justice controls the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Justice moves into the clinch successfully.
Goat tries to pull guard but Justice forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Goat breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Goat feints and as Justice raises his hands in defense, Goat changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Justice is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Justice wants to sweep here but Goat controlling him for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Goat stands and steps away. Justice gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
A combination from Justice does no damage.

Justice feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Goat looking for a sweep. Not yet Goat, not yet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Goat is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Goat looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Justice is defending well. Goat quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Justice has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Goat celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Shiro Goat!
