Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Suns (ranked 25417 p4p, 4141 weight class) and Sean OMalley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sean OMalley will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Suns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sean OMalley!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OMalley shoots for a double leg takedown but Suns sprawls well. He's pushed OMalley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

OMalley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
OMalley throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Suns.
Suns takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
OMalley is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

OMalley gets a clinch.
Suns using the Thai plumb to throw knees but OMalley has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as OMalley takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Suns prevents the takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
OMalley is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Suns to keep the fight standing.

OMalley unleashes a big counter combination but Suns bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Suns tries to clinch but OMalley is having none of it.

OMalley has closed the distance and engaged Suns in a clinch.

OMalley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
OMalley keeps the fight on the outside.
Suns throws a jab when OMalley was well out of range.

OMalley has momentary wrist control but Suns slips an elbow through the middle.
Suns is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
OMalley is trying to control the position but Suns postures up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
OMalley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Suns's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Suns wants to hit a sweep here but OMalley passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Suns there!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


OMalley rushes Suns and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Suns swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Suns misses with a head kick.

Suns looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

and Suns counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Chris Suns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean OMalley.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Suns crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from OMalley - the referee stops the clock and Suns gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says OMalley. Suns manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Suns fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with OMalley, pushing him back against the cage.
OMalley has Suns pressed against the cage, preventing Suns from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Suns has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. OMalley is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

OMalley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Suns wants to clinch but OMalley slips to the side
and OMalley counters with a head kick. That will keep Suns thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Well OMalley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
