PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Kramer (ranked 689 p4p, 2140 weight class) and Danny Chase (ranked 88 p4p, 250 weight class). Chase has chosen Ambitionz Az a Ridah as his entrance music. Jon Kramer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jon Kramer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Chase!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chase lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kramer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kramer seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Kramer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chase defends it nicely.
Chase throws a lazy uppercut

and Kramer counters with a shoot takedown. Chase fights it but they end up in guard.
Chase wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Kramer manages to pass to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kramer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kramer is looking to advance position but Chase won't allow it.
Chase regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Kramer.
Kramer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Chase works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Kramer drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Chase dives on top into guard.


Chase got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kramer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chase has managed to get both his arms back between Kramer's legs - danger averted.

Chase got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kramer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chase has managed to get both his arms back between Kramer's legs - danger averted.

Kramer is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chase doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kramer.

Kramer jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Chase is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Chase and Kramer has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Kramer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chase has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kramer advances to full mount.
Kramer throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kramer is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Chase has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Chase!
Chase wants to pass the guard but Kramer is keeping the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Chase connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kramer's hands.

Chase lands a glancing blow to the side of Kramer's head.
Kramer misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The crowd cheers as Chase lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kramer doesn't seem phased though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kramer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Danny Chase seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kramer drops down looking for an ankle pick but Chase pulls his leg out and moves away.

Chase looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Danny Chase showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kramer uses his free foot to push down on Chase's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Chase.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jon Kramer.
I think Kramer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
