PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Bomstaerk (ranked 1922 p4p, 1551 weight class) and Richmond Belvedere (ranked 200 p4p, 163 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobby Bomstaerk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richmond Belvedere!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bomstaerk throws a chopping leg kick but Belvedere manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Belvedere displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bomstaerk.

Belvedere controls Bomstaerk momentarily but Bomstaerk frees himself.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bomstaerk accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Belvedere looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bomstaerk slips nicely into half guard.
Bomstaerk landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Bomstaerk really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bomstaerk lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Bomstaerk gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Belvedere counters with a stiff right hand.

Belvedere throws a lazy right hand but Bomstaerk sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Bomstaerk takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Bomstaerk throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Belvedere connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Bobby Bomstaerk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bomstaerk lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Belvedere circles away quickly and effectively.
Bomstaerk throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Belvedere attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Bomstaerk got a little sloppy there for a moment and Belvedere has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bomstaerk has managed to get both his arms back between Belvedere's legs - danger averted.

Oh Bomstaerk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Belvedere gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Bomstaerk seems to have got his legs back now.

Belvedere rushes Bomstaerk and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Belvedere pushes off an throws an elbow but Bomstaerk leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Belvedere lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Belvedere prevents the takedown attempt.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bomstaerk is fighting off a takedown attempt but Belvedere is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bomstaerk to the mat. Bomstaerk regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Belvedere shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Belvedere was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Bomstaerk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Belvedere utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bobby Bomstaerk overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Belvedere is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Bomstaerk frees his head nicely. Oh but Belvedere has switched to an armbar! Bomstaerk is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Richmond Belvedere opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
