This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 72 wins and 52 losses; Rolf Ottke! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 22 wins and 15 losses; Hand Solo!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Ottke tries for a takedown but Solo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Ottke bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
You can see the frustration on Solo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Solo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ottke haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Solo seems a little lost for a moment, as Ottke dominates the positioning.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Ottke is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Solo's shoulder. That is not cool.
Solo tries to buck Ottke off but Ottke is having none of it.
Ottke in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Solo is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee asks Ottke politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ottke prefers to stall for the moment though.

Ottke uses his free foot to push down on Solo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Solo.

Solo is looking to improve his position but Ottke isn't that keen on the idea.

Solo can't escape the position.
Solo is controlling an arm, preventing Ottke from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Solo tries to hold on but Ottke postures up.
Solo is looking to get to half guard.
Ottke is looking to work his way around to Solo's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Solo is looking to improve his position but Ottke isn't that keen on the idea.

Ottke trying to control but Solo is having none of it.
Ottke takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Solo sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ottke wants to free his trapped foot but Solo is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Ottke takes the fight on points by 10 to 0.
