Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Logan Mathis (ranked 5616 p4p, 4130 weight class) and Jubileu Neves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Mathis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Neves throws a head kick that Mathis semi-blocks.
A head kick misses from Neves.
Mathis darts in looking for a takedown but Neves gets double underhooks and turns Mathis into the cage.
Neves tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mathis smiles and moves away.

Neves tries to land a leg kick but Mathis saw it coming and moves away.
Neves has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mathis.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Mathis shoots in but Neves avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mathis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Neves defends well and Mathis ends up having to push Neves into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neves slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mathis is on top in guard.

Neves has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Mathis has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Neves stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Neves wants it to stay on the feet.

Mathis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Neves wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Mathis seems a little lost for a moment, as Neves dominates the positioning.

Neves goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mathis has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Neves but great work by Mathis.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Neves is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mathis asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Neves is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Mathis knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Mathis for a finish.

Mathis wants to stand but Neves has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Neves is looking for a sweep. Mathis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

I would just about give that final round to Jubileu Neves.
Well Neves has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
