Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ben Wereski (ranked 4109 p4p, 4107 weight class) and Foogma Arzol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Wereski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Foogma Arzol!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arzol tries to bum rush Wereski with a series of wild strikes but Wereski uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Arzol misses with a combination

and Wereski counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Wereski.

Wereski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Arzol works over Wereski's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like Ben Wereski has been cut.
Arzol misses with a series of wild punches.
Wereski throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wereski shoots in looking for a takedown. Arzol tries to sprawl out of it but Wereski keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Arzol manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wereski is looking to clinch but Arzol is avoiding it.
Arzol unleashes a big counter combination but Wereski bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Wereski shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Arzol sprawls well. Arzol wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wereski gets slowly back to his feet.
Wereski will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wereski misses with a takedown attempt - Arzol sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wereski seems to have got his legs back now.

Despite the aggression on Arzol's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Arzol throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Arzol counters with a crisp one two that drops Wereski! Arzol thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Wereski to his feet! Wereski is in big trouble!

Arzol throws a sloppy head kick and Wereski moves out of range easily.
Arzol lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ben Wereski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Arzol tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Wereski wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

As Arzol looks to move away, Wereski throws a big counter combo but Arzol just gets out of the way.

Wereski avoids a punch combination nicely.
Arzol takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Wereski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Arzol's waist but Arzol gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wereski off to one side.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wereski.

Arzol throws a series of punches but Wereski moves out of range.

Arzol is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Arzol has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ben Wereski's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

No joy there for Arzol, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wereski was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Wereski. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Arzol lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wereski circles away quickly and effectively.
Wereski shoots in looking for a takedown but Arzol manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wereski's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
