Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David McDonald (ranked 5484 p4p, 24975 weight class) and Moby Kick (ranked 509 p4p, 566 weight class). McDonald comes to the cage accompanied by Hell's Coming With Me. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David McDonald!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Moby Kick!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kick slips a straight right by McDonald.
McDonald throws a leg kick that is checked
and Kick counters with a three punch combo that has McDonald backing up. McDonald nods at Kick to acknowledge the strikes.
Kick throws a head kick that misses.
Kick bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kick feints a counter leg kick.
McDonald misses with a body shot.
Kick uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McDonald.
Kick throws a fast counter high kick but McDonald manages to duck under it in time.
Kick keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from McDonald.

McDonald closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kick's guard.
McDonald content to stall in guard here.
McDonald wants to pass the guard but Kick is keeping the position.
Kick being controlled here, momentarily.

McDonald works over Kick with some ground and pound from guard.
McDonald throwing strikes but missing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
McDonald not doing much here.
McDonald throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Kick looks like he's trying to stand up.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McDonald in particular looking to stall.
Kick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McDonald. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Kick looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

McDonald throws a hook to the side of Kick's head but Kick sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

McDonald darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We've been informed that Kick has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
McDonald throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Kick to regain full guard.

McDonald lands a couple of digs.
McDonald prevents Kick from getting back to his feet.
McDonald showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
McDonald advances to half guard.
McDonald missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
McDonald has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McDonald throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Kick is defending against the submission attempts here by McDonald.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McDonald's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Kick gets caught flat footed, as McDonald shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've been hearing good reports from McDonald's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Kick is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McDonald's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McDonald tries to free his leg and advance position but Kick is retaining full guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
McDonald is stalling in the full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
McDonald misses with an uppercut.
A slow jab from McDonald misses its intended target.
McDonald with a hook.
Kick slips a jab from McDonald.
Kick tries to counter with a clinch but McDonald shakes him off and moves away.
McDonald looks to score with a jab to the body but Kick is just out of range.

Kick gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
McDonald stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kick swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McDonald stays in close to Kick's body and controls the position.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
McDonald won't allow Kick to get back to his feet.
McDonald is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
McDonald loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Kick being controlled here, momentarily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

David McDonald dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kick tries to clinch but fails miserably
and McDonald connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
McDonald is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kick can do to turn this around?
McDonald punishes Kick's body with a nice straight punch.
McDonald swings for the body but Kick moves out of range.
Kick counters with a body kick.
McDonald throws a low kick, looking for Kick's leg but Kick calmly moves out of range.
McDonald misses with a looping left.

McDonald feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kick is looking to stand back up but McDonald counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McDonald takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Kick is trying to stand up here but McDonald is controlling him well.
McDonald seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

McDonald is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Kick is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). David McDonald!
As David McDonald got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I want to thank everyone back at my gym, Ludus Magnus, and my amazing wife back home. I'm coming home a winner, baby!'.
