Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Colin Nox (ranked 952 p4p, 2079 weight class) and Kobe Gray (ranked 135 p4p, 246 weight class). Nox comes into the arena with Mobb Deep - Shook Ones blaring out of the sound system. Colin Nox has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gray gets a takedown into half guard.
Nox is positioning himself well to prevent Gray advancing to mount.

Gray is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gray is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nox defends it well.

Gray is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nox doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gray.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nox manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Gray keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Nox, as that shot connected.
Nox lands a nice shot that snaps Gray's head back.
Nox looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Nox counters with a series of strikes. Gray will be more careful next time no doubt.

Gray shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nox but Nox pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Gray seems to have recovered his senses.

Nox lands a head kick that stumbles Gray and the fighters go to the mat.
Nox is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Nox sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gray's guard.

Gray looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Nox pushes past his half guard into mount!
Nox tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nox sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Nox's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gray is looking to improve his position but Nox isn't that keen on the idea.

A left and a right from Nox both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Kobe Gray has been cut.
Gray looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Nox stalks Gray and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gray's face. Gray staggers backwards, shaken.

Nox will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
