Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rapido Nadadora (ranked 3354 p4p, 1267 weight class) and Dan Gable (ranked 310 p4p, 130 weight class). Rapido Nadadora has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 23 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rapido Nadadora!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Gable!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, William Gold and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gable bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Nadadora on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nadadora tries to get out of the position.
Gable misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Gable trying to control the action but Nadadora is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gable wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nadadora, who protects the arm well.
Gable landing strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gable lands a decent elbow from side control.
Nadadora is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gable connects with a decent elbow.
Gable looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Nadadora is avoiding damage well.
Nadadora is trying to control Gable's posture but Gable avoids it.
Nadadora knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gable on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nadadora is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Gable has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Nadadora trying to remain calm as Gable controls from the top position.
Nadadora defending against the ground and pound.
Gable content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Gable in side control lands a decent elbow.
Gable scoring with punches and elbows.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Nadadora seems a little lost for a moment, as Gable dominates the positioning.
Gable wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nadadora keeps working.
Nadadora is letting Gable control him for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gable has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Nadadora is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Gable yanks on the arm and Nadadora is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Gable.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dan Gable!
Dan Gable very nearly forgot to thank Furnace Performance 🔥 amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
