The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Mondragon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Mondragon (2) vs (0) Gotch
Mondragon seems to be working for a kimura but Gotch defends the submission attempt.
Gotch regains full guard. Nicely done.
Gotch had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mondragon defends it easily.
Mondragon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Mondragon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Gotch is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mondragon is aware though and is defending well.

Mondragon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gotch has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mondragon has managed to get both his arms back between Gotch's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gotch is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mondragon defends well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
