Redman comes to the cage accompanied by Smke a Little Smoke - Eric Church. Reyes has chosen Zack Hemsey - Vengeance as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stu Redman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roman Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redman scores with a one two! Reyes had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Redman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Redman scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Redman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Redman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Reyes was covering up waiting for the punch and Redman finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Reyes has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Redman off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Redman is defended easily by Reyes.
Reyes takes one to the side of the head.

Reyes takes the fight into the clinch.
Reyes throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Redman blocks it with crossed arms.
Reyes using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Redman has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Redman blocks the elbow strike.
Knees to the body from Reyes.
Nice elbow from Reyes.
Redman tries a body shot but Reyes blocks it.
Reyes misses with a knee to the head.
Reyes lands an elbow inside that Redman shrugs off.
Reyes tries to land a knee to the head but Redman blocks with his arms.
Redman is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Reyes is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stu Redman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reyes tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Reyes lands an elbow inside that Redman shrugs off.
Reyes is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Redman is defending well for now.

Reyes creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Redman's defenses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Redman lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Redman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Redman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Reyes wants to get back to full guard.
Redman scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Reyes moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Reyes wants to get back to his feet but Redman is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Reyes is on top in guard.

Redman is trying to keep Reyes in close.

Redman looking for a sweep. Not yet Redman, not yet.
Reyes throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Reyes sitting in guard here, content to control.
Reyes is continuing to stall.
Reyes lands a couple of digs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Reyes slips nicely into half guard.

Reyes is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Redman is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Roman Reyes!
Roman Reyes spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
