Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Fu (ranked 3602 p4p, 23732 weight class) and William Wallace (ranked 332 p4p, 439 weight class). William Wallace is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy Fu !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Wallace!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jonathan Paton and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace with a poor takedown
and Fu counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wallace thinking.
William Wallace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wallace is defended easily by Fu .
Fu just misses with a punch to the body.
Fu throws a nice head kick!
Fu lands with a thumping leg kick.
Fu scores with a jab. Wallace acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Fu feints and then cracks Wallace's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wallace down.

Wallace drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wallace tries to free his leg and advance position but Fu is retaining full guard.
Fu wants to stand and escape but Wallace is having none of it.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Wallace thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Wallace is looking to work some ground and pound but Fu has wrist control.
Wallace stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fu swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fu utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Wallace slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Fu pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Wallace back to the cage. Fu follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Wallace gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Fu counter with a right hand.
Fu lands a nice shot that snaps Wallace's head back.
Fu throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Fu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wallace on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Fu is looking to get back to is feet but Wallace passes into side control.

Wallace is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fu is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Fu pushes Wallace away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Wallace gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

It looks like Fu has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

After the fight, William Wallace was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
