PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Equilibrium (ranked 5206 p4p, 25334 weight class) and Jacob Song (ranked 0 p4p, 341 weight class). Song has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pedro Equilibrium!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jacob Song!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Equilibrium shoots in but no luck this time.
Equilibrium tries for a takedown but Song sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Song slaps away a takedown attempt from Equilibrium, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pedro Equilibrium. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Equilibrium will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Song misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Song looks winded!

Equilibrium gets the takedown into side control.

Equilibrium tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Equilibrium has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Equilibrium is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Song is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Equilibrium is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Song knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Song tries to strike but it doesn't land.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Song can do anything to dispel that myth.

Equilibrium has an Americana. Song didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Equilibrium is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Equilibrium hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
