Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between D.D Panda (ranked 1583 p4p, 703 weight class) and Tino Takala (ranked 199 p4p, 90 weight class). D.D Panda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, D.D Panda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Tino Takala!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Panda shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Takala defends it nicely.
Panda misses with a takedown
enabling Takala to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like D.D Panda has been cut.
D.D Panda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Panda misses the body punch
and Takala counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Panda connects with a body shot that sends Takala's belly button to the back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Panda slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Takala on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Panda shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Takala as he avoids it easily.
Panda missing with a left hand there. Takala was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Panda is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Takala.
Takala doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

and Takala counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Panda looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Panda moves in looking to clinch but Takala pushes him off.
Panda throws a right hand that misses
and Takala makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
A punch lands to the side of Takala 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Panda fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Panda lands a nice looking body shot.
Panda has a takedown stuffed.
Takala unleashes a big counter combination but Panda bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Takala is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Panda rushes Takala and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Takala throws out a counter right but Panda avoids it with no problem.
Panda fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Panda comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Tino Takala is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Panda doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Takala counters with a nice uppercut.
Panda tries to close the distance and clinch but Takala swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Panda.
Takala let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Takala has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Takala bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Panda tests Takala's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Panda tries to close the distance and clinch up but Takala swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tino Takala is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Takala slips a jab and a cross from Panda.
Takala throws out a counter right but Panda avoids it with no problem.
Takala circles away from the clinch attempt.
A big right from Panda misses.
Tino Takala seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Panda wants to clinch
and Takala connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Panda tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Takala defends well and Panda ends up having to push Takala into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Panda trying to control the position but instead, Takala has worked for underhooks and has pushed Panda into the cage.

Takala escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Panda throws an off balance right hand
and Takala counters with a three punch combo that has Panda backing up. Panda nods at Takala to acknowledge the strikes.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tino Takala showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Takala drops his hands momentarily and Panda takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Panda ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Takala moves away.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Panda, as that shot connected.
Takala stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Takala wants it to stay on the feet.

and Takala counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Takala counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Takala avoids the body shot from Panda.

Takala flicks out a counter leg kick but Panda steps away.
Takala avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Panda fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Takala, pushing him back against the cage.
Panda is trying to stall.
Panda has Takala pressed against the cage.

Takala breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Panda tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Takala connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at D.D Panda's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Tino Takala!
