Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Armad Bates (ranked 633 p4p, 2744 weight class) and Jacob Parker (ranked 89 p4p, 309 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 16 - 3, fighting out of Montreal, Armad Bates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob Parker!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Taro Takaoka and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Parker misses with a series of wild punches.
Parker scores with a nice right hand.
Parker tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Parker displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Bates takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Parker is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Parker shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Bates eats them both and turns towards Parker to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Parker swings wildly with an uppercut but Bates uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bates jumps guard but Parker turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Bates lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Bates is pulling down on Parker's head. It's preventing any offense from Parker, at least for the moment.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Parker. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Armad Bates.
