PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tevin Shay (ranked 2611 p4p, 3295 weight class) and Jai Patel (ranked 294 p4p, 357 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shay turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Shay manages to end up in side control.

It looks like Shay has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Shay throws a hook to the side of Patel's head but Patel sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Tevin Shay will probably get the nod.

Patel dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Shay. That did some damage!

Shay drops back, looking for a kneebar! Patel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Patel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Patel!

Oh but Shay is tightening it up a little... Patel has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Patel reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Patel taps out! Nice BJJ there by Shay!
