The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ness drives through with a takedown into MacDonald's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
MacDonald is wriggling around but Ness manages to pass to half guard.
Ness lands with a punch from half guard.
MacDonald has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Ness perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

MacDonald is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ness is aware though and is defending well.
MacDonald wants to sweep here but Ness controlling him for the moment.

MacDonald escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ness gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ness postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Ness avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ness lands a couple of decent looking shots.
MacDonald is rocked!
Ness gets to his feet and stands over MacDonald, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! MacDonald felt that one! Ness unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save MacDonald from any more punishment!
