Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danu Jaya (ranked 3416 p4p, 3299 weight class) and Biff Bagwell (ranked 365 p4p, 354 weight class). Biff Bagwell will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Danu Jaya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Biff Bagwell!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaya shoots for a takedown but Bagwell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bagwell misses with a two punch combination.
Jaya wants to slow Bagwell down by chopping away at his legs.
Jaya tries to close the distance and clinch but Bagwell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jaya connects with a jab.
Bagwell connects with a right hand. Jaya shakes it off.
We've been informed that Bagwell has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
A big right from Bagwell misses.
The crowd cheers as Bagwell lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jaya doesn't seem phased though.
Jaya takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Jaya fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bagwell throws a big shot that misses.
A quick step to the side and Jaya tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jaya slips a straight right by Bagwell.

and Jaya counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bagwell throws an overhand right that lands on Jaya's shoulder, as Jaya tries to avoid the shot.
It looked like Jaya was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Bagwell.

Jaya throws a solid leg kick but Bagwell takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Jaya.

and Jaya counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bagwell throws a right and a left that both miss.
Biff Bagwell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jaya digs a good body shot into Bagwell's ribs.
Biff Bagwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jaya uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bagwell.
Bagwell throws a right hand that Jaya ducks under and follows up with a left that Jaya also avoids with ease.

Jaya throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

and Jaya counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jaya not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Jaya is looking for a kimura but Bagwell is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jaya to get the leverage.
Jaya is trying to control. Bagwell wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Jaya feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Bagwell lands a jab to the head.

Jaya shoots in and bounces Bagwell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Bagwell wants to control but Jaya is keeping busy.

Bagwell is refusing to be controlled, as Jaya sits in half guard.

Jaya definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Jaya moves into full mount! Bagwell won't be happy about that!

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Danu Jaya dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Jaya on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Bagwell throws a leg kick but Jaya sees it coming and moves out of range.
Jaya takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Bagwell fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jaya throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bagwell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jaya.
Bagwell appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
A jab from Jaya finds it's way through Bagwell's defenses.
Jaya lands a right hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Jaya counters with a nice body shot.
Biff Bagwell seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jaya connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Bagwell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Bagwell takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Jaya uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bagwell.
Nice takedown defense from Bagwell. No joy for Jaya on that attempt.
Jaya connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Jaya pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jaya throws a series of punches but Bagwell moves out of range.
Bagwell lands a nice shot to the body.
Bagwell feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jayas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Bagwell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Jaya walks into a left hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bagwell scores with a jab. Jaya acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Jaya tries for a takedown but Bagwell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A little jabbing left from Bagwell on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Bagwell jabs Jaya to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Bagwell throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bagwell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jaya moves away.
Jaya throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bagwell dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jaya is looking to wear down Bagwell with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Bagwell scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jaya in his tracks.
The fighters circle momentarily. Bagwell darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Jaya is rocked!
Bagwell throws a shot to the body.
Oh Jaya is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
BAM! Bagwell delivers a spinning backfist that drops Jaya like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Biff Bagwell!
An out of breath Biff Bagwell thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
