Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Swift (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Digglesworth Rockbottom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rockbottom's choice of entrance music: Earth Wind & Fire - Lets Groove. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chuck Swift!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Digglesworth Rockbottom!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swift throws a head kick that misses.
Rockbottom slips under a jab.

Swift bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here as Swift stalls from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rockbottom is trying to improve his position.
Rockbottom dodges the ground and pound from Swift.
Swift working away.
Swift trying to control the position but Rockbottom is working away.
Swift just content to control the position.

Swift wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rockbottom keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Swift seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rockbottom for as long as he can get away with.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Chuck Swift just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Swift changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rockbottom looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Rockbottom keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Nice sprawl there from Rockbottom as Swift shoots in.
Swift doesn't manage to clinch there - Rockbottom circles away.
Rockbottom lands with a nice body kick.
Rockbottom takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Swift fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Chuck Swift seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

No joy there for Swift, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rockbottom keeps the fight on the outside.

Swift fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rockbottom sprawls well initially but Swift persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Swift is controlling the pace.
Swift has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Swift's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Swift throws a right hand that Rockbottom ducks under and follows up with a left that Rockbottom also avoids with ease.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A head kick misses from Swift.
Nice body kick from Rockbottom.
Rockbottom throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Rockbottom gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Swift counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rockbottom lands a head kick. Swift smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Chuck Swift is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rockbottom wants to clinch but Swift slips to the side
and Swift counters with a nice body shot.
Rockbottom is breathing heavily.
Swift fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rockbottom manages to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chuck Swift dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Swift thows a body shot but no joy.

Swift rushes Rockbottom and presses him up against the cage.

Swift escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rockbottom uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Swift.

and Swift counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rockbottom won't be happy with that.

Swift has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Swift shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Swift can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rockbottom is looking to escape.

Swift cracks Rockbottom with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Swift tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Rockbottom manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Swift content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Chuck Swift is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Chuck Swift just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Swift lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Swift stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Swift blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Rockbottom wants to get back to striking at distance but Swift won't allow it.
Rockbottom misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Swift.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Rockbottom.
Swift on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Rockbottom can't break the clinch.

Swift pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Swift finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Swift gets a takedown into half guard.
Swift not doing much here.
Swift tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rockbottom knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Digglesworth Rockbottom has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chuck Swift overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Swift has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
