Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gabilondo Soler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buckley Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gabilondo Soler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Buckley Armstrong!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Konstantin Menshow and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Armstrong gets the takedown into side control.

Armstrong escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Soler gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Soler is looking for a kimura but Armstrong is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Soler to get the leverage.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Soler shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Soler showed some decent athleticism there.

Soler is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Armstrong doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Soler.

Soler is looking to take a break and control but Armstrong is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Soler is going olschool here, as he tries to force Armstrong to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Armstrong shrugs it off.

Armstrong got a little sloppy there for a moment and Soler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Armstrong has managed to get both his arms back between Soler's legs - danger averted.

Armstrong is trying to stick to Soler's back but Soler is turning into Armstrong. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Armstrong's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Soler.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Buckley Armstrong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Armstrong had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Soler is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Armstrong Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Soler's back instead.

Soler is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Armstrong gets his way!

I think Armstrong has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
