Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Emir Bosnic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bert Newton!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton shoots in for a takedown but Bosnic shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Newton shoots for a double leg takedown but Bosnic sprawls well. He's pushed Newton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bosnic slaps away a takedown attempt from Newton, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Emir Bosnic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bert Newton.
Bosnic fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Newton, pushing him back against the cage.
Newton drags the fight down to the ground.
Bosnic content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Newton has locked up a guillotine! Newton's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Bosnic is holding on here and Newton must be using up a lot of energy. Bosnic has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Newton gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
