Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fidalgo Brokador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emelianenko Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nice sprawl there from Brokador as Nogueira shoots in.

Brokador gets the takedown into side control.
Nogueira tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brokador in side control lands a decent elbow.

Brokador stands up and beckons Nogueira to his feet.
Brokador connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Brokador seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Nogueira for as long as he can get away with.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brokador misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Horrible takedown by Brokador or perhaps it was just good defense by Nogueira which made him look bad.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Nogueira had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Brokador is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nogueira Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Brokador's back instead.

Nogueira is persistently looking for the submission but Brokador is defending it well.

Nogueira has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Brokador has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Nogueira is not going to allow Brokador to sit and survive in this position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Brokador closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nogueira to the mat! Nogueira manages to get full guard.
