Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Islamovitch Weiss (ranked 3990 p4p, 4360 weight class) and Tavares Tootoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tootoo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Weiss closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Weiss lands in his opponent's guard.

Weiss drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Tootoo dives on top into guard.

Weiss is trying to control the position but Tootoo postures up.
Tootoo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Weiss swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tootoo wants to control from the top but Weiss keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Weiss isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Tootoo stacks Weiss on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Tootoo!
Weiss really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tootoo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weiss keeps working.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
