The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Islay leaves Woods with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Islay just misses with a punch to the body.
Woods half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Woods moves into the clinch successfully.
Woods is trying to pull guard but Islay has him pressed against the cage.
Woods wants to take the fight to the mat but Islay manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brodie Woods. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Islay turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Islay manages to end up in side control.
Woods tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Islay cracks Woods with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Woods knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Islay on the ground.

Islay has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Woods's face.
