Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Billy Richards (ranked 3102 p4p, 2384 weight class) and George Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Richards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, George Smith!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Richards is trying to defend but Smith finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Richards is refusing to be controlled, as Smith sits in half guard.
Smith passes to side control.
Smith working away.
Richards tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smith wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Smith tries to move to mount but Richards blocks the move with his legs.
Smith advances to mount.
Smith mounts Richards! Really nice guard pass there!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Richards really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Richards definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Richards tries to improve his position but instead Smith has taken his back!

Richards tries to roll but Smith sticks to his back.
Richards trying to control the hands but Smith won't let him.
Well, with Smith on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Richards is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Smith is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Richards with him. Richards is trying to defend but Smith has an arm under the chin now! Richards grimaces and is forced to tap out!

George Smith decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
